Have you ever felt God was leading you to do something, but in your mind, you’re thinking, “No way God, that’s crazy!?”
When my husband decided to retire from the sheriff’s department in Illinois, he sought out other job openings in our area. Closed door after closed door was the answer to each job he applied for.
Except for one job he applied for on a whim…This job was in Alaska.
After he was offered the job in Alaska, we both initially said no. Going to Alaska meant we would be far away from family in Illinois.
We tried closing the door on the job in Alaska FOUR times, but the door kept coming back open. After some serious praying about the decision to move, as well as some other supportive occurrences that “just so happened” to guide our decision, we decided to accept the job offer in Alaska.
The decision to move to Alaska stretched my faith more than it ever has in my life.
Looking back on the last three years since we have lived in Alaska, God has blessed our life in so many ways. One of those blessings was learning more about who God is, which opened the door to the foundation for Faith, Family and Law Enforcement Officers.
Revelation 3:8 (NLT) says, “…I have opened a door for you that no one can close…”
God’s closed doors are always good because the doors God opens always lead to His will and a better plan for our life!
