Sarah retired as a Detective Sergeant in 2019 from the Sterling Police Department in Illinois, and her husband, Kris, retired as a Sergeant in 2022 from the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office. Sarah and Kris now live near Fairbanks, Alaska. Kris works for the State of Alaska, and Sarah is working on writing a book and originating Faith, Family & Law Enforcement Officers.
Sarah and Kris enjoy hiking, camping, and trailing all over Alaska. They have a blended family of six grown children and three grandchildren.
